Metacleaner's New Look: Design, Blog, & Enhanced Features

Metacleaner New Design

Metacleaner has been quietly stripping metadata out of files for years, for people who'd rather not hand over their location, device details, or edit history every time they share something online. The tool works. The mission hasn't changed. We just thought the site itself could do with a polish to match. So here's what's landed. A fresh look across the whole site The whole of metacleaner.com has been rebuilt. Cleaner layout, faster pages, sharper visuals, and a much better experience on a phone (which is where most of you actually use it). Same tool you know, just nicer to look at and quicker to get around. A brand new blog We've launched a proper blog at metacleaner.com/blog. Guides, news, the occasional opinion piece. If you've ever wondered what's actually leaking out of your holiday photos, or why journalists and lawyers care so much about this stuff, that's where we'll be digging in. There's an RSS feed too, for those of us who never stopped using one. Dedicated pages for specific use cases We've also added pages that walk through specific use cases such as removing metadata from PDFs, stripping EXIF data from photos, cleaning Word documents, handling video files, and GDPR-driven metadata removal, so you can jump straight to whatever you're actually trying to do. What Metacleaner cleans Worth a reminder, because people often don't realise quite how much we cover:

Photos, including HEIC from iPhones, JPEG, PNG, and TIFF PDFs Word documents and other Office files Video files

EXIF data, GPS coordinates, camera and device info, author names, edit history, the lot. If it's metadata, we strip it. The bit that hasn't changed Everything runs in your browser. Your files never touch our servers. That's the whole point of Metacleaner and it isn't going anywhere. Oh, and our LinkedIn is alive again We've dusted off our LinkedIn page after a fairly embarrassing stretch of silence. We'll be posting updates and metadata-related bits over there too, so come and follow us if you want this stuff in your feed.

If there's a file type or topic you'd like us to cover on the blog, let us know.
